About the New Forest, Hampshire

The New Forest National Park offers an enormous range of outdoor activities. Walking is an absolute joy and we can suggest to you a number of routes both in the forest as well as on the coast. Horse riding is also available in the area and we can arrange riding excursions for beginners as well as experienced riders, these need to be booked ahead, so please try and arrange with us prior to arriving. We recommend Coombe Stables, which are just around the corner from us. Cycling is a great way for everyone to enjoy the Forest. We can arrange bikes to be dropped off at the hotel for you during your stay, based on some terms and conditions.

Towns and villages

Being a Hotel & Restaurant in Sway, Lymington is just a short drive away. The coastal town of Lymington is well worth visiting, with a historic quayside, views over the solent and a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants. On Saturday’s there is a charming market to explore. Burley, a few minutes away, is a quirky little village, full of tea shops, pubs and ponies. Along with its picturesque charms is an odd affiliation with Witchcraft! Beaulieu, quaint historical village, set by a lake with surrounding heath land. Visit the Beaulieu estate, auto museum and Exbury Gardens for a good day out.
